From a tech writers' message board I'm on:
I have CS2 for Windows. I want CS3 for Mac. A cross-grade. Is there any
useful information about cross-grades on the Adobe web site? Of course
not. After 35 minutes on the phone with "Customer Service," much of it
on hold, the guy comes back on the line to ask me for my CS3 serial
number, which of course I don't have since the purpose of my call is to
get (aka BUY) a CS3 license. Oh no, not possible, very sorry.
Apparently, I must first purchase an upgrade from CS2 Windows to CS3
Windows. Then, when I have a CS3 Windows serial number, I will be
allowed to purchase a Windows->Mac cross-grade.
"Customer Service?" Well, I have another description for it.

Did Wilde write this?
From an acquaintance's attempt to install some Adobe software:
The Installer has encountered the following less functional Adobe product on your computer:
NONE
The Installer requires that you uninstall this less functional product before continuing this installation in order to avoid application conflict.
To uninstall NONE and then install this new product, choose Continue.
To cancel this Installer without making any changes to your computer, click Cancel.
