Letterman returns

Ahhh. I've been looking forward to tonight.

Unlike the other talk show hosts, Letterman and Ferguson are returning with writers, because Dave's company, Worldwide Pants, signed a side deal with the WGA for internet royalties, one of the key components behind the writers' strike.

Many people much more knowledgeable in these matters are blogging and writing about the nitty gritty of the negotiations. The best summation I can give you is this: in front of shareholders, Viacom CEO Sumner Redstone will say that the internet is worth billions in revenue. At the negotiating table with the WGA, he will insist that internet income is impossible to quantify, and as such royalties cannot be written into any new agreement.

Corporate America, baby!

I'm glad to see that Dave is hammering home the strike. The first 20 minutes were about nothing but the strike. In joke form, of course, but still, the issue will not go unrecognized.

I love it.

Also, if you were not aware, Worldwide Pants paid its staff throughout the strike.

Mr. Letterman: once again, you're the man.
