BAKINTYM

Sitting at a red light on the way home, I noticed that on the license plate on the car in front of me.

I figured out what it said, but it made no sense for a couple seconds. Then I zoomed out a bit, and realized the car was a DeLorean. Mint freakin' condition too.

Well played, sir.

Xtreme!

The 630-yard par 3.

Story here.

Yes, I know those guys are pros, but the fact that they even came close to the green is ridiculous. At that distance, the miss per degree off-line is 33 feet. Throw in some wind, and those shots are unbelievable.

Gigapan? I hardly know her!

I've only seen this referenced at Sully's and tech blogs like Gizmodo, so I'll do my part to spread it around.

What you're looking at is a 1474 gigapixel image, assembled from well over 200 images shot using a specialized rig that scans and pans at intervals you can set to establish both a wide range and a lot of depth.

Here's a screen cap of the whole thing:

And here is a zoom of Chimpy, Darth, and families. Even here, Bush is making a shitty little poutyface. Man, he needs to fall headfirst into a gaping void.

Here are two more with some pretty impressive detail considering the specks they represent in the main shot.

Seriously, go get lost in that thing.

I so need this book

I think that pretty much explains itself. And I'm not a hypochondriac.

Clock, or counter?

My initial (and highly dominant) reaction, is clockwise. When sober (when I first saw this), I was able to fight it hard enough to see her going counterclockwise.

Now, with a few drinks in me, I can NOT fool myself into counterclockwise. At all.

See the whole left-brain/right-brain explanation here.

Oh, I almost forgot: nice tits.
