Yay freedom

Hey, I'm really glad giving China the Olympic games had a freeance and peance effect.

The women, Wu Dianyuan [pictured, center], 79, and Wang Xiuying [left], 77, had made five visits to the police this month in an effort to get permission to protest what they contended was inadequate compensation for the demolition of their homes in Beijing.

With Leather summarizes it nicely:
Just so we're clear on what happened: the Chinese government demolished their homes, and they never even protested. They only tried to get permission to do so. And they got a year of re-education through labor.
